Track-out Grates & Plates
Track-out Grates & Plates
As part of the storm water best management practices (BMP), construction sites are encouraged to have some sort of tracking control BMP. This will prevent or reduce the tracking of sediment off-site by vehicles leaving the construction area. Our track-out grate& plate removes soil, rock and mud from vehicles leaving the work zone and entering offsite areas such as public roadways. They reduce safety hazards on roadway and sediment pollution in waterways. This vehicle tracking control BMPs limit the amount of pollutants leaving the construction site and help you comply with SWPPP. The track-out grates are designed to shake loose any debris from the tires as the vehicle rumbles across the grating while driving over it.The shaking action of the vehicle will jar loose any debris stuck to the tires or undercarriage of the construction vehicle as it rumbles along the grating. Works most effectively when placed onto a flat surface (asphalt, cement, compacted dirt or gravel etc).
Track-out Grate
Our track-out grate has been our most popular version of tracking control BMP. Built on steel tubes with welded on caps on the ends so neither dirt nor water can collect inside. The grating design allows debris to fall through as a truck or other construction vehicle rumbles over the angle iron grating. The spacing of the angle iron welded on the grating is designed for maximum jarring affect to shake loose rocks, dirt and mud from vehicles. Works effectively on most terrains (i.e. gravel, asphalt and dirt). Light and easy to transport from one jobsite to another. 8’ x 10’ and only 1,350 lbs.
Track-out Plates
Our steel track-out plates are built from a 7⁄8” steel plate with angle iron welded on top for an extremely heavy-duty track-out plate. The angle iron is spaced strategically to allow a truck tire to rise and fall as it travels over the grating. We use quality steel and industrial welding wire to ensure a strong, long-lasting product. All angle iron pieces have two 45° cuts on each end to prevent any tire damage.Includes a lifting eye in the center of the plate for easier transportation. 8’ x 10’ footprint. Uses 2 ½” x ¼” angle iron that is stronger than competitors 3/16”.
